Whatever we have been taught and whatever Pakistani children have been taught about India and Pakistan rivalry from childhood might be true to some extent, but it is not what everyone wants. Both the nations have been holding a belief that we are enemies. Though a war is not going on borders, but we are enemies and must resent each other. The resentment and holding grudges is not the way to happiness. To maintain peace and harmony, it has to be a two way street. When someone takes a step to establish a peaceful relationship, the other has to respond in a same way to get on the same page.
Few days ago, in a video featuring lead vocalist of Indian Ocean band Rahul Ram, stand-up artist and lyricist Varun Grover and Satirist Sanjay Rajoura composed a beautiful song ‘Mere Saamnewali Sarhad Pe’ based on the music of famous song ‘Mere Saamnewali Khidki Me’ on India and Pakistan barriers. To respond to this song, artists from Pakistan made another beautiful song to show that it is the peace and harmony between two nations is the way to live happily together. They composed a song based on same music and theme, only lyrics have been changed to give a message and tell their side of story. Watch this video.
