The popularity of comic books particularly comic books with daredevil activities of great superheroes are increasing more than ever before. Not only in reading comic books but people are flocking to movie theaters in great number to see live activities of superheroes on screen. This popularity has prompted producers to invest money in the small screen for big budget superhero oriented TV shows also. But it is often seen that these superheroes have undergone through subtle to sometimes great changes ( in outward look or in accessories or weapons they carry) when they appear in flesh and blood on the screen. Sometimes a whole different new character is born who has no such previous existence.

Batman created by artist Bob Kane in 1939 is perhaps the only superhero who has undergone through massive changes in his various appearances in TV shows and movies. Even the latter comic books which came after 40s  changed the look oft Batman into a more smartly dressed muscular superhero. Batman is no longer called by this name. He is addressed as the Dark Knight. The suit has become more dark. The bat emblem in the chest is no longer colorful. In silver screen massive changes have come into the look of bat mobile, bat jet or in bat cycle also. In the last film Dark Knight Rises, Batman was seen to use a big gun like weapon when he chased some bad men on motorbike who created havoc in Gotham city stock exchange.

Iron  Man created by Stan Lee was first published in 1963 as a part of Suspense comics series.The initial design of the Iron Man which continued for few years was very cumbersome than today. Later from 1970 the creator introduced more features and weaponry as he changed the look of Iron Man into a more acceptable one. The advancement in computer generated visual effects made it possible to bring Iron Man with success to the screen in 2008. Now three separate Iron Man movies as well as two Avengers films are already made. In the latest Avenger film Iron Man is seen to have produced several robotic replicas of himself who help him in fighting crime. He even have invented a Hulkbuster to control a renegade Hulk.

Arrow Or The Green Arrow

First appeared in More fun comics series of DC comics in 1941 Green Arrow was created by Morton Weisinger and George Papp. The Green Arrow looked like a masked Robin Hood in his initial appearances. Later the creators changed and refined his look that assumed the shape of a more muscular archer like William Tell. The super hit TV series that is made from this character has used the word Arrow in place of Green Arrow.  In this TV series the main character is more real life like. He has a hood over his head and wears a mask that covers the eyes. The bow he uses is a sleek looking modern one that is used in big games and tournaments.

The Black Widow

Marvel comics group invented a female superhero in the form of Black Widow as a part of Tales of suspense comic series in 1964 created by Stan Lee. The real name of the character was Natalia Romanova or Natasha Romanoff. But in 1999 a new character was introduced in the form of Yelena Belova as Black Widow as a part of Marvel knights series. But in the first Avengers movie or in one of the sequels of Iron Man comic book lovers found the Natasha chacter as Black Widow. The character is portrayed by Scarlett Johansson. The actress’ physicality perfectly suits the Natasha Romanoff character. Besides, minus a colorful belt in the waist the suit looks more realistic in the screen. The red hair is there too.

From Superman To Man Of Steel

Superman is perhaps the most popular of all super heroes who has not gone through much changes because of his trade mark look with red, yellow and blue. But in recent times in the hands of film maker like Jack Snyder touch of black has intruded in the costume of this mythical hero. The colors are a bit desaturated and the ridiculous bright red pant is gone too. The title Man of steel is used in place of Superman.The new film Batman vs Superman due out next year has become more dark.
